Bury Clarion was established in January 1901 and has an illustrious history which can be read on our website.
At the time of writing we have 113 members - this compares with 100 in 1954 when which was the highest level of that era.
The second rule of our constitution states: 'The object of the Club shall be the promotion of all kinds of cycling as determined by members from time to time. Good fellowship should be seen as a prime aim'.
It is fair to say we adhere to this commitment with club rides nearly every Saturday and Sunday mornings and occasional all day rides on Sunday. Members compete for eight club championships and all get an equal chance of becoming a club champion in our handicap championship. The committee have excellent communication with all members with a weekly Newsletter and a regular update of our facebook pages. We are currently developing youth interest with a two section GoRide satellite club.
