CLUBS HAVE RULES. OUR FAVOURITE IS RULE 2:
‘The object of the Club shall be the promotion of all kinds of cycling as determined by members from time to time. Good fellowship should be seen as a prime aim.’
ALL KINDS OF CYCLING? REALLY?
Put it this way, if you can ride 30 miles, comfortably, at a pace above 10 miles per hour and have a bike suitable for the roads, we will have a ride to suit you.
Bury Clarion rides are not aimed at complete beginners, but we can advise on the best way to build up your cycling experience. If you’re just starting out, the links below will prove very useful. If you’re in any doubt, please contact us.
OUR MEMBERS, INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES
The club has a thriving community of cyclists and a huge variety of abilities. Some members are aiming to complete their first sportive, others ride at top international level.
Whilst the club predominately organises road rides, many members take part in mountain biking, tandem, touring, long-distance and cyclo-cross events. You are bound to meet some riders whose abilities and interests match yours.
Club rides take place every weekend. They are a great opportunity for you to meet other club members, learn the skills of group riding and enjoy some fantastic routes.
YOU CAN TRY OUR CLUB RIDES 3 TIMES BEFORE YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BECOME A MEMBER.
Membership is great value and costs between £15 and £20 a year.
Please see the Club Rides page for more details about our rides, which include mixed-group and women-led ride options.
YOUNG CYCLISTS
We’re keen to get the next generation to use their bikes more. If you have children aged between 6 and 15, please look at the Go-Ride Bullets page for information about our work with young cyclists.
