Blackpool Clarion is a cycling club for Blackpool and The Fylde, run by local cyclists for local cyclists looking to develop their own abilities, skills and interests in the company of others. Although still a young club we have been working very hard over last couple of years to grow our club and now have around 70 members. We are very proud to be associated with the National Clarion and our aim is simple - to enjoy the full spectrum of cycling activities from the recreational through to the competitive. We are associated with British Cycling and we now have a few members who have started racing for our club which is fantastic!
We have male and female members aged from 6 to 70 years old and we run rides for different abilities on Saturday and Sunday mornings and we also have a social ride for all abilities on a Thursday evening.
As well as the regular rides we also run challenge rides and park and ride events at least once a month often visiting the Lake District which is fairly local for us. We also do trips out and social events. Recently we went to the velodrome at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester and everyone loved it ! I think every keen cyclists should have a go at that its very different and great fun!! Our normal rides always leave from the clock Tower in Stanley Park in Blackpool. New riders are always welcome to join us and we are proud of our mantra "that we never leave a rider behind".
