Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th October
Ramsbottom, Lancashire.
Bury Clarion are hosting an Autumn Meet which is tying in with the National Clarion Hill Climb which takes place on the Saturday at Crown Point in Burnley. This event is open to all National Clarion Members so it’s a fantastic chance to meet fellow Clarion riders.
So this is what is planned for the weekend:
Saturday 7th October:
Hill Climb Champs at Crown Point in Burnley (incorporated with Rossendale RC event), first rider is off at 10am .
There will be ride leaders riding to the start of the climb if you want to cycle there to warm up for the climb or you can make your own way. Enter the race here. You need to enter in advance and entries close on 26th September.
In the evening there will be a social event at Holcombe Tennis Club , this is £15 per person ( children are free ) this will include:
Music, Raffle, Hot food, Dancing ( if you want to ) plus we have a Guest Speaker, former UCI/British Cycling President Brian Cookson, who has kindly offered to come and talk about his illustrious career and has also suggested a Q and A section.
Sunday 8th October:
Two rides are currently organised and one guided walk for those who fancy a change from cycling .
Ride 1 is The Frank Jefferson Memorial Ride but we will be using the The Charlie Westlake route at a social pace around 60 hilly miles with a cafe stop in Barley .
Ride 2 is The Walter Pilkington route at a slower pace , around 30 miles , can include a coffee stop .
The walk is around 7 miles, route TBC

We have had confirmation that people with motorhomes or campervans can stay in the car park of Holcombe Tennis Club on the Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October.
Nearby hotels for those of you who are travelling: The Old Mill in Ramsbottom, Red Hall Hotel in Walmersley, Travelodge in Bury and Premier Inn in Bury. Campsites are The Paddock in Shuttleworth and Burrs Country Park in Bury.
