THE 128th NATIONAL CLARION CYCLING CLUB EASTER MEET
OAKHAM, RUTLAND
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April 2025

DETAILED PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

Friday 18th April
Informal social gathering (drinks and food/meal) for those members who would like to arrive the day before the event. Please email Steve Clarke on racing@clarioncc.org if you are interested.

Saturday morning 19th April
Round Rutland Clarion Challenge Rides
These will be self-led rides with GPX files provided during the week before the event. Three distances are offered:
– 100 miles (start time 8:30am)
– 100 km (start time 9:00am)
– 50 km (start time 9:30am)
Entry Fee: Clarion Members free, Non-members £5
Start and finish at the Wisteria Hotel, 4 Catmos Street, Oakham, LE15 6HW
Parking available in public car parks (£5.80 per day). Please do not park at the hotel.
Entries must be booked in advance here. Online entries close on Wednesday evening, 16th April 2025.

Club Ride – Rutland Water
A leisurely ride around the picturesque Rutland Water reservoir using cycle paths and quiet lanes with cafe stops.
Start time: 10:00am.  Distance: 23 miles.  Pace: 10-12mph approx.
Start and finish at the Wisteria Hotel, 4 Catmos Street, Oakham, LE15 6HW
Parking available in public car parks (£5.80 per day). Please do not park at the hotel.
Advance entry not required- just turn up.

Saturday afternoon 19th April
Oakham Heritage Walk
Start time: 2:00pm
This is a self-guided walk following the Oakham Heritage Trail. Details of the route can be downloaded here. The Oakham Heritage Trail website can be found here.
No need to register – just turn up.

Saturday evening 19th April
Annual Dinner & Prize Presentation
From 7pm – 10pm
Venue: Wisteria Hotel, 4 Catmos Street, Oakham, LE15 6HW
Hot buffet.
Entertainment by Clarion Cycling Poet Johnny Hughes.
Tickets: £18 per person.

Sunday morning 20th April
Clarion Kenneth Humphries Circuit of Rutland Water Easter Time Trial
14.5 miles. Undulating route. Start time: 9:00am (near Manton). Run under CTT Rules & Regulations (Club event).
HQ and parking: Pick’s Barn Cafe, North Luffenham Road, Lyndon, Oakham, LE15 8TY.

Club Ride to Pick’s Barn Cafe, Lyndon to rendezvous with time triallers
A leisurely ride through the lanes to the fantastic Pick’s Barn Cafe (great cake!).
Start time: 9:00am Distance: 23 miles.  Pace: 10-12mph approx.
