The Ironbridge Clarion Cycling Club was formed in January 2015 to offer local cyclist a chance to meet and ride together. It has a membership of 65. We offer a regular Saturday ride to encourage all on a Club ride and distances vary from 30 to 50 miles and regular monthly family and leisure/beginner rides.
The Club designed its jersey by its membership and it reflects the Ironbridge Gorge through the Bridge arch as seen here.
We meet sociably at the White Hart in Ironbridge where the formation meeting was held on the first Monday of each month at the same time we have an open committee meeting. New members are welcome to join us here and as a guest on three rides before joining via our clubs website.
We assist in route marking and rider support in the annual 'Great Big Bike Ride' for the Severn Hospice and regularly has around 150 riders enjoy the quiet lanes of Shropshire on a figure of eight 100km or 50km route.
The Club organised the National Clarion Autumn Meet at Coalport in the Ironbridge Gorge and hosted over a 100 riders on a couple of days riding. There maybe a case that we run the event again it was so much fun!
Plans are in place as we are affiliated to British Cycling to become a 'Club Mark' Club offering Cycling Skills training to both youth and adults. We hope to become one in 2017/17.
