Nick Hall of Bury Clarion wins the 50 champs

1st Nick Hall - Bury, 2.06.07
2nd Andy Horner - Bury, 2.06.24
3rd Duncan McLaren - Stockport, 2.07.54
4th Ian Clarke - Fenland, 2.11.06
5th Derek Hodgins - Stockport, 2.13.10
6th Will Sanderson - Stockport, 2.13.20
7th David Mitchell - North Cheshire, 2.29.56
The event was a blustery, showery 3 laps of a circuit around Jodrell Bank in Cheshire, the J4/16. The wind direction was probably the worst direction it could be which accounted for a slightly slower time than last year's Championships.

Clarion Supports Go-Ride Sections - following a resolution at the annual conference at Eastbourne it has been agreed to provide financial support to those sections (on request/approval) who are setting up Go-Ride sections. Also agreed at conference was lower joining fees for Juniors joining via Go-Ride sections. For full details contact us: bike@clarioncc.org .

Clarion ROAD-RACE Champs 22nd Aug' we are pleased to announce the revival of the National Clarion Road Race Champs which will be held at Oundle near Peterborough and hosted by the Fenland Clarion. Categories will be 3,4,J,L and 1,2,3 with the title Clarion Road Race Champion going to the highest placed rider in the 1,2,3 event. Please watch out on the BCF website for details shortly.

Autumn meet - 16th Oct' Derbyshire - book by 5th August we are taking bookings for the new Peak District based Autumn cycling weekend, to be based at the 4-star Ilam Hall Youth Hostel. The intention is to recreate the club spirit of the past by cycling out in clubruns to meet other sections en-route and in cafes. We then have a jolly time in the evening and either head off Sunday morning to ride the Clarion Hill Climb champs, or ride back home with our clubmates.  Why not get a group of members from your section together and start planning now. Further details contact bike@clarioncc.org .

Ilam Hall YHA - Autumn meet

Ilam Hall YHA - perfectly central for many Clarion sections it's a Victorian gothic manor house owned by the National Trust, it makes for a civilised break. Its grounds stretch to 84 acres of country park on the banks of the River Manifold, making outdoor games, woodland wanders and riverside walks an appealing possibility. Walk in the gently undulating White Peak area of the Peak District National Park, visit Dovedale or cycle along the Tissington and Manifold Trails.

The National Clarion Cycling Club is not associated with the National Clarion Cycling 1895 (North Lancs Union) nor Charles Jepson
